Qualifications at IPES

Qualifications (gained through training programs) typically refer to the formal educational degrees or academic credentials a person earns, such as a Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD. These qualifications usually involve completing a set curriculum at an accredited institution over an extended period of time. They provide a broad, foundational understanding of a subject and are often required for entering certain professions.

Ghanaian & International Students’ Questions Answered

If you’re looking for a technical and vocational institution in Ghana that offers CTVET HND for university progression, job-ready diplomas, and integrated IT training, IPES Ghana is your ideal destination.

Many prospective students — both in Ghana and abroad — want to know whether IPES is part of a larger university system or affiliated with a well-known institution. Here’s the clear answer:

IPES Ghana is an independent, post-secondary technical institution.

We are not a university, we are currently not affiliated with any university or external institution, and we do not claim to be a university – therefore, we do not award degrees.

At IPES, we are the institution providing the education, and we take full responsibility for the quality and relevance of our academic and professional programs.

Currently, the highest qualification offered at IPES is the Higher National Diploma (HND), which is administered by CTVET (Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training). This means our students benefit from a recognized qualification that enables direct academic progression to any accredited technical university in Ghana.

In addition to our HND programs, IPES also offers professional and academic diploma programs that are specifically designed for the job market in Ghana. These diploma courses are endorsed by leading industry players and employers in Ghana, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared and will be accepted for full-time employment in their chosen fields of study.

So if you’re looking for a trusted technical and vocational institution in Ghana that offers HND courses, career-focused diploma programs, and a clear path to employment or further education, IPES is the right place for you.

This is a very important question many prospective students — especially international applicants and Ghanaian students looking for credible academic options — often ask.

For academic purposes, the highest qualification currently awarded at IPES Ghana is the Higher National Diploma (HND). This HND is officially administered by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), a statutory body under the Government of Ghana.

So while IPES is not a university, the HND qualification you receive is issued directly by CTVET, not by IPES. This means your certificate is recognized nationwide and accepted by accredited technical universities in Ghana that accept TVET HND for further academic progression, including top-up degree programs.

At present, IPES is not yet an approved CTVET examination center, but we are actively working through the approval process. We expect to gain full certification status soon within a few months time. Until then, our students are registered as external candidates at officially approved CTVET centers in Ghana to write their HND exams.

Again, it’s important to note that the final HND certificate is issued by the Government of Ghana through CTVET, making it a nationally and internationally recognized qualification — anywhere Ghanaian government-issued TVET diplomas are accepted.

IPES takes pride in the high quality of education we offer. Our instructors are certified, experienced professionals in their respective fields, ensuring that students are taught by people with real-world industry knowledge.

Our academic and technical training programs follow CTVET and NABPTEX (National Board for Professional and Technical Examinations) guidelines, ensuring alignment with Ghana’s national education standards.
But we go even further — our study programs are reinforced with American and European educational standards.

This blended approach shortens the preparation time for our students who wish to sit for internationally recognized professional certification exams in their chosen fields. This means IPES graduates are not only ready for the Ghanaian job market but are also globally competitive and equipped for international career opportunities.

So, if you’re searching for a HND institution in Ghana that also provides global-standard professional training, IPES Ghana is the right choice.

If you’re searching for a practical training institution in Ghana that offers job-ready professional diplomas, IPES is the right place for you.

At IPES Ghana, our goal is not just to educate but to prepare students for real employment opportunities in Ghana and beyond. That’s why our Academic and Professional Diploma programs are backed and endorsed by respected companies and industries in Ghana across various fields of training.

These are not just classroom-based courses — our training includes hands-on practical experience with these partner companies. During your time at IPES, you’ll complete practical sessions, industrial projects, and on-site training directly within the companies or factories that are aligned with your program of study.

When you graduate, your IPES diploma or certificate will include the endorsement of two or three well-established Ghanaian companies that partnered in your training. These endorsements are official and visibly printed on your final certificate, alongside IPES’ own accreditation and approval of you as our student.

This collaboration ensures that employers know you have received practical, hands-on training in real work environments and are job-ready. Your qualification isn’t just academic — it’s backed by the companies where you trained.

That means your IPES professional diploma can be used to apply for full-time employment across Ghana, especially in industries where our partners operate. It’s a strong advantage in the competitive Ghanaian job market.

In summary:
✅ IPES Ghana offers employer-endorsed diploma programs recognized across Ghana
✅ Our students gain practical training and industry exposure before graduating
✅ Our certificates are co-signed by respected Ghanaian companies in your field
✅ You can use your diploma to gain employment in Ghana immediately after graduation

This is a key question for many of our prospective students — especially those looking to use their qualifications to either continue their education abroad or seek international job opportunities.

As stated earlier, the highest academic qualification currently awarded at IPES Ghana is the Higher National Diploma (HND). This HND is officially administered by CTVET – the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, under the Government of Ghana.

Any university, technical institution, or country that recognizes TVET-accredited HND qualifications from Ghana will also recognize the HND awarded to IPES students. This is because the qualification is issued directly by CTVET, not by IPES itself.

Currently, our students do not write the HND exams on our campus, but are registered as external candidates at approved CTVET examination centers in Ghana. We have already started the accreditation process to become an official CTVET accredited school examination center, and we expect that our students will soon be able to write their HND exams directly on our premises.

In addition to Ghanaian government-recognized qualifications, IPES Ghana is also actively working to become an approved training and examination center for international certifications in various professional and technical fields.

We are in the process of forming official partnerships with globally recognized certification bodies, allowing both internal and external students to prepare for and write international certification exams in their areas of study.

These international credentials will provide students with globally recognized qualifications, further enhancing their employability in Ghana and abroad. Whether you’re looking to gain international certifications in ICT, business, engineering, or vocational training, IPES will soon provide full access to these exams and preparatory programs.

This is because our academic structure is built around the Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification, which is administered and awarded by CTVET – the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, under the Government of Ghana.

Since the HND is a nationally recognized government qualification, all students who graduate from IPES with a CTVET HND can progress directly into any accredited technical university in Ghana.

No separate transfer agreement is needed, because the HND from IPES awarded by CTVET Exams — and it is designed for academic progression into bachelor’s degree programs at Ghana’s technical universities.

So, if you’re searching for an HND school in Ghana that allows progression to university, IPES Ghana provides exactly that opportunity through the CTVET-approved Higher National Diploma pathway.

In addition to academic HND programs, IPES Ghana offers professional diploma and certificate programs that are endorsed by respected companies and employers in Ghana.

These industry-backed diplomas are tailored for immediate employment after graduation. They are not meant for academic progression but are recognized across Ghana for professional use.

Our practical training and coursework are developed with the needs of Ghanaian industries in mind, giving students real skills for real jobs.

We are also proud to have an official partnership with DevWorld Tech Academy, widely regarded as one of the top tech and IT training schools in Ghana.
